This is the view from the back of our shopping cart. Pretty stinkin' cute, right?! Buggy's hair in pigtails just might be my new favorite thing. She doesn't totally love getting them put in but she leaves them alone once they're in. As far as Em's hair goes, now that I've semi-mastered the little curly rascals, I'm kind of a big fan. :) We read A LOT around here. When I was two my mom and I were moving back home when my dad got out of the hospital (LONG story...maybe for another day) and all I was concerned about was, "where's my books?!" I think my girls may have caught that same fever because books are like gold bars in this house. We have animal books, Christmas books, color books, puzzle books, Dr. Suess books, books, books, books!! I really do cross my heart that our children do wear clothes! I realized the other day that a whole lot of pictures on this blog are of naked little Mathes children. When we're home they rock the diaper look a lot. They dig it. I think they may be nudists at heart. :/ When we go out in public they do have clothes on...really! :) With these looks I fear I'm going to have my hands very full in about 15 years... So I got this super fun idea. I wanted to paint the girls something from the day I first saw both of them. I fiddled around with some pictures on Picasa and came up with this... Now I just have to figure out the best way to transer the images to canvas (I'm thinking carbon paper) and then paint away! I'm really hoping they turn out as awesome as I picture them in my mind! We shall see. Yesterday for my Giving Reasons I filled a big envelope with clothes the girls have recently out grown and I sent it off to Newborns in Need. They are in need of all kinds of different donations. You should check out their website and see if you've got any of the items they're looking for! They have offices all over the country! Today I got together a bunch of old greeting cards I had lying around and packaged them up to be sent off to St. Jude's Ranch for Children. They use greeting cards of all occasions to make new greeting cards and then sell them to make money! I think I might just buy my birthday/thinking of you/thank you cards from them from now on! I hope you all had a wonderful week! Happy Sunday! :)
