The arm-out-self-portrait!

In the ten years we've been together, we have perfected the arm-out-self-portrait. At first it was just out of necessity...you know...you want to capture the moment but no one is around so you attempt (and usually super awkwardly) to take your own photo. Well then it just kind of became our "thing". Everywhere we went, or sometimes just sitting on the couch at home, we'd turn the camera around and shoot. As long as at least one of both of our eyes was in the photo...it was a keeper! I'd like to think that after 10 years and a couple hundred arm-out-self-protraits, we are straight up professionals. Now I don't know if anyone will be hiring us for their next life changing moment they want captured on film...but I think we've mastered it none the less! It's become this awesome little story and I think I may just line them all up and put them in a book. Some of them would have rather humorous little captions! Like this one...he was driving...and ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to be included in the picture! Sometimes we even let others join in on the self portrait fun! This was the VERY FIRST time Jon held Emersyn! Jon taught me how to change the oil in a car. I was pretty proud of myself. The oil can had to be included. This was on our 4th Anniversary and I was 7 months pregnant. The baby Bug!! In the LITERAL highest row in the nose bleed section at a Portland Trailblazers game. Yep, we even did it in a church! (5th Anniversary in the church where we got married) We even fit FOUR people in one of our self portraits!! In some circles that may be considered epic. The day that Havyn was 1 month old. That's Mt. Everest behind us...ok so it's Mt. Hood...but it was still an awesome adventure! :) In this one I kind of look like death because I was like three weeks pregnant, super sick, and didn't know it yet! This was our 2nd Anniversary! When we were both in our friends' wedding... Blonde hair!!! This is the most amazing howler monkey in the whole world! Her name is JP. I miss her. Canon Beach. <3 First time in our very own house...all by ourselves!! Our 3rd Anniversary! This is one of my very favorite arm-out-self-portraits! In the hospital the day Havyn was born... And this was in the hospital the day before she was born...before the hard labor REALLY started...and lasted...and lasted...and lasted... :) So that's just a snippet of this beautiful little story we're writing called life. I dig it...and the people I get to write it with. I like out little self portraits. Now when we're our somewhere we'll wait until people pass us by so they don't offer to take the photo for us. :) Happy Friday everyone!
