This is a common occurrence in our house...puppy pile. Sometimes there are just two puppies, sometimes there are more, and more often than not they're piled on top of you! They're pretty awesome foot warmers. :) These foot warmers (aka Em's shoes) are Buggy's newest hand warmers. They're pretty neon-colorfully sweet! Yep, that's right, I totally put 'get frozen yogurt' on our To Do List. It was a necessity...complete necessity! I've got four days of Giving Reasons to fill you in on!! The first one I'll tell you about is the Tree of Sharing. In our neighboring community they have a tree full of tags. Each tag represents a child in need this Christmas. You pick a tag, buy gifts for the child, and bring your gifts back to the tree. We have gotten a few things for our girl so far and my mom is going to get a few things for her too! It's been a lot of fun putting a basket together! Another Giving Reasons from this week...I picked out this cute little Santa gift card at Wal*Mart, asked the cashier to put $5 on it, and then asked her to give it to someone else who went through her line that day. I also saw a box while we were out shopping that was set up to collect toys for kids in need this Christmas. I picked out three little African animal figurines and in the box they went! I don't have a picture of my fourth Giving Reasons so you'll just have to take my word for it. I signed up to crochet baby blankets for infants in need through the Touching Little Lives program. They are always in need of baby items and I think every little one should have a cuddly blanket to nestle in. So I'm going to make some! (If any of you readers out there have unwanted baby yarn around, feel free to send it my way! I've got to head out to the store because I don't have any at the moment and the more yarn I have the more blankets I can make!) :) In other news...Daddy made a Mater race track in our kitchen. It turns out if you push EVERYTHING out of the way, there's JUST enough room to crank the wheel and GO! (He rigged the go button to stay pushed with a hair tie) The first time around Buggy rode Mater until his little sweet self got tired and needed a recharge! Em really wasn't too sure about this whole thing at first...but with a little coaxing she became a world class Mater rider. Standing up and giving high 5's are just a few of the tricks in her repertoire. My honey and I went for a walk in the dark tonight. Instead of a flash light he thought it would be fun to use a lantern. It did provide more romantic lighting than a flashlight. :) My mom picked up these way-too-cute dresses for the girls to wear during the holidays. You can't see it very well in the picture but this yarn is full of sparkly fabulousness! I think they'll look like two little Christmas tree ornaments all wrapped up in a sparkly bow! :) Jon and I picked out this fabric so I can sew Christmas stockings for the girls. They will have ruffles and they will be fantastic. The first person who leaves me a comment with a CORRECT guess as to which group of fabric is for Havyn's stocking and which is for Emersyn's will get a custom 6x6 canvas! :) The only thing left to tell you about is what I've been thankful for these last four days. I have been thankful for piano. I started taking lessons when I was five and it has been a part of my life, my heart, my soul ever since. I am thankful for airplanes. I am terrified of flying...like full fledge anxiety attack terrified...but planes make visits with family and friends possible...and a plane is what brought Emersyn home to me. I am thankful for clean water. It is something that a huge number of people in the world go without and because of that, many people die. I will never take crisp, clean, cold water for granted. I am thankful for our "free box". Our friends Mike and Nanci gave us boxes and boxes of hand-me-down clothes before the girls were born. So many days we get compliments on the girls outfits and so many days we get to tell people, "thanks, it came from our 'free box'!" :) We have been so blessed by others in the process of us becoming a family and for that we are SO VERY thankful! Now if you'll excuse me, a date with my family, freshly out-of-the-oven sugar cookies, and the movie Home Alone are calling my name! I hope you're all having a fabulous week! :)
