It seems like ever since Havyn was born time just flies. They grow and change every day. It's bitter sweet. So amazing and SO (way too) fast! Today was a moment in time...a moment that I loved. I woke up early this morning before everyone else and made waffles. I woke Jon up with hot breakfast and then out toddled the girls in their Minnie Mouse nighties that Damma bought them. My mom left yesterday and the first thing Havyn said this morning in her scratchy little voice was, "see Damma?". I sat down and sewed Hudson's (Yes, we're having a boy!! :)) first burp cloth. It even has his little "h" on it. It made my heart really happy. Jon said he wanted to take us somewhere and surprise us. We drove out of town a ways and ended up at a nature preserve. We walked a couple miles down the path and saw a hawk and a blue heron. The girls rode in their new wagon the first half and then wanted to walk. Buggy insisted on pulling the wagon "self"...her determination amazes me every single day! Em found every cool stick on the path. At one point Emersyn looked back at Havyn and said, "come on, vamanos!" (thank you, Dora)! On the way home we stopped at Starbucks and all got drinks and snacks. Jon treated us with his Christmas gift card. The girls are always so tickled with their "coffee"! We went on a drive in the woods and the girls watched Charlotte's Web in the back. When we got home the girls went down for naps and I snuck downstairs to edit photos from the walk. I LOVE looking at all the moments that are captured...even when they're not "perfect". Jon and I finally got around to watching the second half of The Great Gatsby. Now Em and Bug are up and it's time to eat dinner and settle in for a night of snuggling and watching the ball drop. It's so perfectly normal...and so wonderfully simple. A moment in time. I'd spend every moment just like it.
