The Heart Day

Yesterday was Valentine's Day. I've never really been that big of a fan of Valentine's Day...not that I dislike it persay...it's just not my favorite. Jon and I started dating on February 11th and we always celebrated big on that day so it's always kind of just rolled into one big celebration of love. Once when I was 14 my first boyfriend broke up with me a week before Valentine's Day and my best friend and I made a Cupid is Stupid Club...we even had fake ID cards...our ID numbers may or may not have been our exs birthdays. :) Anyway, now that we have kids who are old enough to be excited about pink and sparkles and glitter and cards and presents and sugar and hearts, Valentine's Day is SUPER FUN! I spend way too much time browsing Pinterest to come up with fun girly things that will knock their socks off because I have just as much fun watching them love it as they do loving it! So yesterday morning I started the morning off with sprinkle pancakes...rainbow and heart sprinkles were a must...as was raspberry syrup! We found some fun little toys and some fruit pouches (one can never go wrong with fruit pouches) and Jon picked out two totally sweet cards that matched both girls to a T. (Have I ever mentioned how much I really love that man?!) The girls loved it...we loved it...
Buggy has been sick this week and I seem to be coming down with it now (pregnancy has just not been my friend this go around). That did not deter me from decking the girls out in some fit-for-Valentine's-Day pink and snapping a photo or two. We also attempted to get some shopping done...which just didn't work out...so we came home and watched Cinderella instead. :) Oh my sweethearts.
Yesterday I was thinking about how quickly the girls are growing up. Some people probably laugh at how many pictures I take or how I make normal every day activities an event...but you know what?...this is their only Valentine's Day as 2 year olds. Next year they will be 3 and it will be a whole different experience. So, this one better be a humdinger because we only get to do it once! Plus, who doesn't love a reason to make sprinkle pancakes?! So that was our Valentine's Day...perfectly sweet. Now I'm waiting for the rest of the world to wake up (I've learned that my body thinks sleep is overrated when I'm pregnant...I tend not to agree) so we can go look for some goodies for projects we're working on around the house and then celebrate our nephew's Birthday! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! :)
