Today let's start with Giving Reasons. I wanted to do something today that would make lots of people smile but I couldn't spend a lot of money. I kind of like planning things when you don't have tons of spare change because it makes you be more creative I think. I've always loved post it notes. They're bright, they stick, they're fun sized...so many possibilities. :) So I took a pad of post it notes and left some fun little messages around town. This one I stuck to the front of the drive through at the bank. I tried to snap the picture before the teller saw me...but she caught me...I think she thought I was a little weird (thus the funny look on her face) but that's ok. :) I even sent one back to her through the shoot thingy when we were done. **Side note- those shoot thingys ALWAYS make me think of the movie Elf. I love Elf.**
We had to make a stop at Wally World on our way home. Always such an exciting trip. Actually today was quite exciting because I saved $26 on diapers...but anyway. I stuck five quarters in a baggie with a little note and taped it to the front of one of the pop machines. When we left it was still hanging there but I'm sure someone found it by the end of the day.
Now onto Giving Thanks! Today I am thankful for Pinterest! Why you ask? Well lots of reasons actually, it takes up WAY too much of the little free time I have, it gives me lots of great ideas (not that I've turned many of those ideas into reality), but most of all I am thankful for Pinterest because it helps me be a fun mom! I found this WAY FUN idea and thought we'd give it a try tonight. You mix 1 tbsp cornstarch, 4-6 pumps baby shampoo, 2-3 drops food coloring, and 1-2 tsp water for each color you want to mix up. We mixed six because that's how many spots our mini muffin pan had. (we figured out later that the muffin pan floated in the bubble bath but that was a happy coincidence) So here are all of our fun colors ready for the tub. (The one that looks brown was actually a very pretty purple) :)
Paint brushes in hand, they were ready!
This ended up being such a fun thing! They both had a blast! They love bubble baths anyway so the paint just makes it CRAZY AWESOME!! I mean, who wouldn't love a good rainbow colored bubble bath?!? They both did really well with the brushes although Havyn would rather use the handle end to paint with. Hey, whatever floats your boat!!
I think we may have the next Pable Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh on our hands.
At the end it all washed right away with water. Super fun, super easy clean up! Doesn't get much more cool than that! (In the eyes of the toddlers and the mom) :) After they were all clean and cozy Grandma stopped by for a visit and read some stories. Perfect evening. So much to be thankful for!
Could you all do me a favor? I tried to fix the comments so that everyone could comment. I'm not sure if it worked though. If you're reading this could you just leave a little comment so I know it's working? I want to make sure because one of my Giving Reasons coming up soon is an art giveaway and I need those comments to work! Thanks!! Happy Saturday everyone! :)
