Today I am thankful for art! Although I don't have as much time as I used to to spend my art, I still LOVE it! I need my creative outlet. It helps me be me. Every since I was little I've had a flair for decoration and design. When we started the adoption it gave me the opportunity to raise a small portion of the money needed to bring Em home. Now I mainly do it for me but I have been taking some orders lately too! I love it!! :) These are a few things I've gotten to do for clients lately. These super fun scrapbooks went out to Evin. I just love how different every scrapbook I make turns out. It's so awesome to hear my clients ideas and turn them into reality! This canvas is for a sweet friend of mine, Hallie. It's for her son's room. I hope she loves it! :) Today we did braids! It's fun (and difficult...but mostly fun) to try new things with Emersyn's hair. We've done braids before but not all over her head. Her hair is long enough now to do it and it's super cute! I need to get those little plastic ball hairbands to go on the ends though because her braids are too light and they curl up on themselves. Any of you mamas out there have any cool hairdo's to try? Shoot me a comment and let me know! :) Of course Bugster couldn't be left out! So she got two cute little pony tails too...I know...too cute! Now onto Giving Reasons. Our local animal shelter is very small and always struggling. It's run out of a house with outer buildings and is completely reliant on donations and volunteers. These people are amazing...like seriously amazing! Having worked in an animal shelter that had a state of the art facility and lots of funds at their disposal, I can't even imagine the hard work that must go into keeping our little local shelter running. I know these people work from before sun up to beyond sun down. Last Fall their puppy cabin burnt down. They are just now ready to build a new one. They need it up and running before the really cold weather sets in (and since it snowed today, I'm thinking that means ASAP)! They have had all the materials and labor donated up until now. All they need to finish is more insulation and dry wall. They need to raise $1500 and they have raised $618 of that so far. I went on their website and made a donation to help them get a little closer to their goal of having their animals warm this winter. If you want to check it out the link is here. Go to the bottom of their most recent post (there are two chip-in thermometers, you want the BOTTOM one) and click on the little yellow bar on the bottom of the chip in box. This will lead you to the donation page. I hope they get their materials SUPER soon and all their furry friends are cozy this Winter! Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! :)
